Family Photo Ideas: Teens & 20’s
Many of my clients have a good idea about the type of family portrait they want. Others start by asking me for family photo ideas from which to choose.
One portrait idea that is often overlooked by parents with older children, is a photograph of just the teenagers or young adults in their 20’s.
This period in a young person’s life is dynamic and full of change. New experiences, new friends, high school and university, all leave an indelible mark on your kids as they grow up.
Capturing that period of life in a professional sibling portrait is one of the best ways to “freeze time” and be able to relive those moments where you stood back and watched in amazement as your children matured.
From Family Photo Idea to Gorgeous Portraits You’ll Treasure Forever
Kids grow up fast, and before we know it, they’re young adults, ready to move out on their own.
I’m often asked if there’s a “best or perfect time” for a sibling portrait.
Some parents wait until a significant birthday occurs, for others it may be tied to a milestone like graduation. But for the majority of parents, scheduling a professional portrait isn’t so much about waiting for a significant day or milestone, but rather knowing that every day is special and there’s no need to wait.
As you’ve watched your kids grow up, I think you’ll agree that sometimes it seems like major changes happen almost overnight.
That’s why I believe that every day is special. The beauty of a professional portrait hanging on your wall is that it captures the feelings that you have for your children and reflects them back to you. So it’s time to move from thinking about a family photo idea to seeing a gorgeous portrait of your kids hanging on the wall that you’ll treasure forever.
From Idea to Treasure in 3 Simple Steps
As a professional portrait photographer with 30+ years of experience, I specialize in creating professional portraits you’ll be proud to display.
It starts with a short phone call where we’ll schedule a free no obligation portrait consultation. At this brief meeting in our studio we’ll exchange ideas.
I’ll share my experience in photographing young adults and suggest different styles of portraits, the type of clothing that should be worn and locations to be considered.
There’s no cost or obligation either for the phone call or meeting. This allows you to shop with complete confidence.
Step two, is the portrait session.
Prior to picking up the camera, it’s important for me to get to know each person being photographed. A short, friendly conversation goes a long way in building rapport and trust. It’s this rapport and trust that allows those being photographed to relax and be themselves in front of the camera and have fun. The result is a portrait that looks natural and real.
After the portrait session, we’ll schedule a time for you to visit the studio. This is step three in the process.
Viewing the portraits for the first time is often a special moment for many of my clients. There’s an immediate emotional connection seeing their children looking their best, radiant and full of life.
That’s the beauty of a sibling, young adult or family portrait. It’s a moment in time that will be remembered and cherished forever.
